Message from the President

We transitioned to a holding company structure in October 2023 and took a new first step as the “Kyoto Financial Group.”

The Bank of Kyoto, which was established in 1941, stated “serving the prosperity of the community” as its management principle, and achieved sustainable growth while continuously addressing customers’ needs, which changed with the times, and social issues in order to carry out its mission and duty as a regional financial institution.

We are deeply thankful as this is due to the earnest support and kindness from everyone in the local community.

With regard to Japan going forward, it will be necessary to respond to social issues, such as full-fledged population decline, DX and carbon neutrality, and we predict that the needs and issues of local communities and customers will become more diverse and complicated.

In order to respond to these needs and issues, it is necessary to aim not for growth using an extension of past customs, but for discontinuous growth through the realization of offering new value, such as by taking on the challenge of new businesses in non-financial fields, in addition to enhancing and deepening financial functions through our existing Group companies.

Therefore, Kyoto Financial Group will strive toward being a “comprehensive solutions provider that drives community growth and creates the future together,” which is its vision, and sustainably enhance its corporate value over the long-term by working for the “expansion of our solution functions and new business domains,” “reformation of the mindset and behavior of executives and employees, and promotion of independence and cooperation of each group company,” and “enhancement of governance and improvement of the speed of business execution.”

We would like to ask everyone to have high hopes for Kyoto Financial Group as well as for further support going forward.
